Tina Turner is the subject of death rumors making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter. The legendary performer appears to be the victim of a hoax that started with a so-called “anticipated obituary” on a site called Necropedia, which claims Turner “died” on June 9, 2012.There was also, supposedly, a mysterious “radio report” about Turner’s alleged death. However Jordie Jill from examiner.com confirms that Tina Turner isn’t dead, but for a minute people using Twitter on Saturday thought the worst as the latest Twitter hoax was cruel. The online social site was report Tina Turner was dead. As the world has seen over the past six months, there have been several divas who have died and it was first reported by Twitter. Donna Summer and Whitney Houston’s death were both reported first on the social media platform, so it seems possible that it could have been accurate.
It appears that Tina Turner’s death was greatly exaggerated and like the celebrities who have had death hoaxes in the past, it is a cruel joke. Bill Cosby, Justin Bieber and even Jon Bon Jovi have all been declared dead on Twitter until the star shows up online and confirms they haven’t met the Maker quite yet. While Tine Turner’s representatives have confirmed on Saturday that the singer is alive, well and kicking, the fans are still searching for information as the hoax is still spreading.
